Clean Air Northeast States selected to receive over $22.5 million in DERA National Grants
As part of the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) program, 4 Clean Air Northeast states have been selected to receive grants to reduce emissions from existing diesel engines through clean diesel retrofits or replacements. Each project is detailed below.

Connecticut
- Connecticut Maritime Foundation, Inc.
- Amount Awarded: $1,999,953
- Fleet: Freight – Port
- Description: this project will replace two Tier 0 propulsion engines with two Tier 4 certified propulsion engines and replace two Tier 0 auxiliary generator set engines with two Tier 3 auxiliary generator sets in a single tugboat.
Massachusetts

- Description: this project will replace three excavators and five dumpers/tenders with Tier 4 ultra-low sulfur diesel excavators and dumpers/tenders.
